Area Template#
An Area Template represents a physical grow space, such as a grow tent, room, greenhouse, outdoor area, shelf, or another location where plants are kept.
Area Templates can be linked to the Seedling, Vegetative, Flowering, or Autoflower stages of a Cycle. Using the same Area Template across multiple Cycles allows GroBase to group those records and show where that Area has been used.
This can help you review grow history, compare results, and better understand how different grow spaces may have affected your plants.
Use Cases
Area Templates can be used in different ways depending on how your grow spaces are organized.
Here are some examples:
I want to track which Cycles used a specific grow space.
Create an Area Template that represents the grow space. You can then assign it to the appropriate stage of each Cycle.
The Area Template page will show the Cycles and stages where that Area was used.
I use different spaces for testing plant performance.
Create a separate Area Template for each testing space.
For example, you may use different Areas to compare powdery mildew resistance, light intensity, environmental conditions, or other plant characteristics.
You can later review the Cycles connected to each Area and open those Cycles to view the related plant records.
