Resource Template#

A Resource Template represents a product or material used during a grow, such as a nutrient, amendment, compost, inoculant, substrate, or pest-control product.

Resources can be recorded on Stage Days or individual Cycle Plants. Linking each application to the same Resource Template allows GroBase to group the usage records across your Cycles.

The Resource Template page can then show how much of the Resource was used, which growth stages it was used in, and the Days, plants, Cycles, and Journals connected to those applications.

Resource Templates can also be used when creating Grow Medium Mixes and Feeding Recipes.

Use Cases

Resource Templates can be used in different ways depending on what you want to track.

Here are some examples:

  • I want to track how much of a nutrient I use across my grows.

Create a Resource Template that represents the nutrient.

When applying the nutrient, record the Resource and amount on the appropriate Day or Cycle Plant. GroBase can then group those applications and display the minimum, maximum, average, and total amounts used for each growth stage.

  • I want to track the ingredients in a Grow Medium Mix.

Create a Resource Template for each ingredient used in the mix.

You can then add those Resources to a Grow Medium Mix and record the amount of each ingredient used.

You may also create one Resource Template that represents the complete mix when you prefer to track it as a single Resource.

  • I regularly use the same group of Resources together.

Create a Feeding Recipe and add the Resources and amounts used in the recipe.

The recipe can help you enter a repeated group of Resource applications more quickly and consistently.
