Light Template#

A Light Template represents a grow light that can be linked to Cycle Lights across multiple Cycles.

Using the same Light Template allows GroBase to recognize that those Cycle Lights represent the same physical light. GroBase can then group the related records and calculate PPFD statistics across your grow history.

A Light Template also stores reusable information such as the light name, brand, wattage, coverage area, and description.

Use Cases

Light Templates can be used in different ways depending on what you want to track.

Here are some examples:

  • I want to review PPFD values recorded for the same light across multiple Cycles.

Create a Light Template that represents the physical light.

When adding a Cycle Light, link it to the Light Template. PPFD values recorded for the linked Cycle Lights can then be grouped by growth stage.

The Light Template page displays the minimum, maximum, and average PPFD values recorded during the Seedling, Vegetative, Flowering, and Autoflower stages.

  • I want to compare how plants perform under different lights.

Create a separate Light Template for each physical light or lighting setup.

Link each Cycle Light to the appropriate Light Template, then record information such as light height, PPFD, DLI, schedule, and notes throughout the Cycle.

You can later open each Light Template to review its associated Cycle Lights and recorded PPFD statistics.

Light Template Page#

The Light Template page displays information about the Template, its PPFD statistics, and the Cycle Lights linked to it.

Details#

The page header displays:

  • Light name

  • Wattage

  • Coverage dimensions

  • Brand

  • Description

  • Edit action

PPFD Stats#

The PPFD Stats chart groups recorded PPFD values by growth stage.

The chart displays the minimum, maximum, and average PPFD values for:

  • Seedling

  • Vegetative

  • Flowering

  • Autoflower

These statistics are calculated from Cycle Light records linked to the Light Template.

A stage may display a value of zero when no PPFD readings have been recorded for that stage.

Associated Cycle Lights#

The Associated Cycle Lights table shows the Cycle Lights linked to the Light Template.

Each row may display:

  • Cycle Light name

  • Count

  • Description

  • Cycle

  • Journal

Select a Cycle Light, Cycle, or Journal name to open its related page.

Linking the same Light Template to Cycle Lights in different Cycles allows GroBase to group their lighting records and PPFD statistics together.
