Account Settings

Account Settings#

The Account Settings page lets you manage your account information, notification preferences, measurement units, public profile, connected accounts, and GroBase data.

To open Account Settings:

  1. Open the navigation menu.

  2. Select the User icon.

  3. Select Settings.

General Settings#

The General section contains your account, security, notification, and tutorial settings.

Change Your Username#

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find Username under Account & Security.

  3. Select Change Username.

  4. Enter your new username.

  5. Select Change.

Change Your Email Address#

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find Email Address under Account & Security.

  3. Select Change Email.

  4. Enter your new email address.

  5. Select Change.

Change Your Password#

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find Password under Account & Security.

  3. Select Change Password.

  4. Enter your current password and new password.

  5. Select Change.

Delete Your Account#

Warning

Deleting your account permanently removes your GroBase account and its data. This action cannot be undone.

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find Delete Account under Account & Security.

  3. Select Delete Account.

  4. Review the confirmation message.

  5. Select Delete to permanently remove your account.

Notifications and Preferences#

Manage Email Notifications#

The Email Notifications setting controls whether GroBase can send account and grow-related notifications by email.

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find Email Notifications under Notifications & Preferences.

  3. Select the status button to enable or disable email notifications.

Manage Push Notifications#

Push notifications can appear through a supported browser or installed GroBase app.

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find Push Notifications under Notifications & Preferences.

  3. Select the notification button to subscribe or unsubscribe.

Your browser may ask for permission before push notifications can be enabled.

Manage Email Preferences#

Email Preferences let you choose which optional GroBase emails you receive.

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find Email Preferences under Notifications & Preferences.

  3. Select Manage Email Preferences.

  4. Enable or disable the available email categories.

  5. Save your changes.

Your account may still receive important service or account-related messages when required.

Reset the In-App Tutorial#

Resetting the tutorial allows the guided GroBase introduction to run again.

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find Tutorial Status under Notifications & Preferences.

  3. Select Reset Tutorial.

The tutorial will restart the next time it is triggered on a supported page.

Usage#

The Usage section shows how much of your GroBase account is currently being used.

Depending on your account, this section may display:

  • User role

  • Number of Journals

  • Number of Cycles

  • Number of Cycle Plants

  • Number of Cycle Lights

  • Number of Photos

  • Current account limits

Removing an older Cycle can free space for new Cycle Plants and Cycle Lights associated with that Cycle.

Social Connections#

The Social Connections section can be used to connect or disconnect supported services such as Discord.

To connect Discord:

  1. Join the GroBase Discord server.

  2. Open the Account Settings page.

  3. Find Social Connections under Usage.

  4. Select Discord.

  5. Follow the authorization steps.

Connecting Discord assigns the GroBase Grower role when available.

To disconnect Discord, select Disconnect. Disconnecting removes the GroBase Grower role but does not remove you from the Discord server.

Preferred Settings#

Preferred Settings control how measurements and dates are displayed throughout GroBase.

Preferred Settings Fields#

Field

Description

Time Zone

Controls how dates, activity times, reminders, and other time-based information are displayed.

Temperature Unit

Select Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Water Volume Unit

Select gallons or liters.

Height Unit

Select millimeters, centimeters, meters, inches, or feet.

Conductivity Measurement

Select EC or TDS (500 scale).

Weight Unit

Select ounces or grams.

Update Your Preferred Settings#

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find the Preferred Settings section.

  3. Select Edit.

  4. Update the settings you want to change.

  5. Select Save.

Warning

Changing a measurement preference automatically converts stored values such as temperature, height, and water volume. For the best accuracy, choose your preferred units when first setting up your account.

Public Profile#

The Public Profile section controls how you appear in GroHub and other public areas of GroBase.

You can manage:

  • Profile photo

  • Display name

  • Bio

  • Website

  • Anonymous status

Update Your Public Profile#

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find the Public Profile section.

  3. Select Edit.

  4. Update your display name, bio, website, or anonymous setting.

  5. Select Save.

Select View Profile to open your current public profile.

Upload a Profile Photo#

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find the Public Profile section.

  3. Select the image button.

  4. Choose a supported image from your device.

  5. Select Upload.

GroBase supports JPG, JPEG, and PNG profile images. Uploaded photos may be resized.

Anonymous Profiles#

Enable Anonymous when you do not want your public profile to be viewable.

When Anonymous mode is enabled, your profile is hidden from public view.

Data#

The Data section lets you download a copy of your GroBase account data.

Your export may include:

  • Journals

  • Cycles

  • Plants

  • Projects

  • Templates

  • Other account-related records

The export is provided as a ZIP file containing data in JSON format.

Download Your GroBase Data#

  1. Open the Account Settings page.

  2. Find the Data section.

  3. Select Download My Data.

  4. Save the ZIP file to your device.

The contents of an export may vary depending on which GroBase features you have used.
