Templates#

Templates are reusable records that can be linked to items within your Cycles.

These links allow GroBase to recognize when the same Area, Light, Resource, Container, or Genetic is used across multiple Cycles. This makes it possible to organize related records and aggregate data over time.

For example, linking the same Genetic Template to plants in different Cycles allows GroBase to group the grow history and recorded information for that Genetic.

GroBase includes the following Template types:

  • Area Templates

  • Light Templates

  • Resource Templates

  • Container Templates

  • Genetic Templates

Templates can also save time by preventing you from entering the same information repeatedly, but their main purpose is to create consistent links between related GroBase records.

Depending on your selected GroBase view, some Template tools may only be available in Advanced View.

Areas#

Area Templates represent the grow spaces used throughout your Cycles.

An Area may represent a grow tent, room, greenhouse, shelf, outdoor space, or another location where plants are kept.

Linking an Area Template to Cycle Plants allows GroBase to identify when the same grow space is used across different Cycles and include it in related summaries and insights.

Lights#

Light Templates represent the grow lights used throughout your Cycles.

A Light Template can store information such as the light name, type, manufacturer, wattage, dimensions, and other specifications.

Linking a Light Template to Cycle Lights allows GroBase to associate lighting records, measurements, and grow history with the same light across multiple Cycles.

Resources#

Resource Templates represent products and materials used during a grow.

Resources may include nutrients, amendments, compost, inoculants, pest-control products, and other grow inputs.

Linking a Resource Template when recording an application allows GroBase to group its usage across Days, plants, stages, and Cycles.

Containers#

Container Templates represent the containers used for Cycle Plants.

A Container Template can store details such as the container name, type, size, grow medium, and grow medium mix.

Linking Container Templates to Cycle Plants allows GroBase to track when the same container setup is used across different plants and Cycles.

Genetics#

Genetic Templates represent the genetics grown throughout your Cycles.

A Genetic Template can store information such as the Genetic name, breeder, flowering type, genetic type, lineage, and other identifying details.

Linking a Genetic Template to Cycle Plants allows GroBase to group plant history, grow results, reviews, traits, and other recorded information for that Genetic.
